Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains when DELF Prep considers refunds on subscriptions and plans. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and the version in effect on the date of your purchase governs that purchase.
- Try the free demo first. It uses the same AI scoring as a paid attempt, so you know what you are buying.
- Once you open any paid feature, that purchase counts as digital content already delivered and is non-refundable.
- A wholly unused plan or pass is refundable within 14 days, less fees; subscriptions are not pro-rated.
- We still fix duplicate charges and genuine technical failures on our side.
- Your statutory consumer rights are always preserved.
This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what governs.
Conditional refund eligibility
This Refund Policy explains when and how DELF Prep considers refunds on subscriptions and one-time plans. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and the version in effect on the date of your purchase governs that purchase.
We use the phrase conditional refund eligibilityrather than "money-back guarantee" because not every purchase qualifies for a refund. By completing checkout, you acknowledge that paid access grants you immediate access to digital practice content and AI-powered services that begin performing on your behalf the moment you sign in. Once you access any paid feature, the purchase is treated as substantially performed digital content and is no longer eligible for a discretionary refund except as set out below.
Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Statutory Rights Preserved section.
Subscriptions
You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate or refund partial billing periods, and renewal charges already incurred are non-refundable once the new period's access has begun, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
It is your responsibility to cancel before a renewal date if you do not want to be charged for the next period. We send renewal-related emails to the address on your account as a courtesy, but non-receipt of a reminder does not entitle you to a refund.
Plans & passes
Paid plans (7-Day Pass, Monthly, Quarterly, and Lifetime) give access to the Service for their stated duration. Subscription plans (Monthly, Quarterly) can be cancelled at any time to stop future renewals; the current paid period is non-refundable once you have used AI grading or started a mock exam in that period. One-time purchases (7-Day Pass, Lifetime) are non-refundable once you have used AI grading or started a mock exam. A wholly unused purchase may be refunded within fourteen (14) days, less transaction and payment-processing fees. Access has no cash value and is not transferable.
When a refund is possible
Outside of your statutory rights, refunds are limited to the following situations:
- Wholly unused plan or pass: refundable within fourteen (14) days of purchase, provided you have not used AI grading or started a mock exam, less transaction and payment-processing fees.
- Duplicate or accidental charges: reversed in full once verified.
- Technical failure on our side: if a graded attempt was not delivered after you submitted it, and we cannot fix it, we will remedy the situation appropriately.
Where a refund is granted, it covers the net amount paid: the purchase price less (i) any transaction or payment-processing fees we incurred, (ii) the cash-equivalent value of any promotional credit, coupon, or discount applied at checkout, and (iii) any taxes the relevant tax authority has not refunded to us. We respond within a reasonable period, typically up to ten (10) business days.
What isn't refundable
To keep pricing fair for everyone, the following are not refundable:
- Any subscription, plan, or pass once you have used AI grading or started a mock exam.
- Renewal charges for a subscription period whose access has already begun.
- Requests made more than fourteen (14) days after purchase.
- Dissatisfaction with a practice score itself, since scores are study estimates (see Terms §08).
Disqualifying conduct
A refund request will be denied, and we may permanently revoke your access, terminate your account, retain payment, and forfeit any remaining plan access without further refund liability, if we determine in our reasonable judgment that:
- You provided false, misleading, or incomplete information in support of your refund request.
- You, or any account we reasonably believe to be associated with you, has engaged in a pattern of purchasing and refunding.
- You shared your account credentials, used automation, scripted any feature, or otherwise breached the acceptable-use rules in our Terms.
- You initiated a chargeback in respect of the purchase before contacting us in good faith and giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve your concern.
- You have publicly disclosed, redistributed, or reproduced any of our questions, audio, sample answers, AI feedback, or model outputs.
How to request a refund
Email support@delfprep.com from the address on your account, and include:
- the email address on your account;
- the date and amount of the purchase;
- the order or Stripe receipt reference; and
- a brief explanation of what you are requesting and why (for example, an unused plan, a duplicate charge, or a technical failure on our side).
We may ask follow-up questions, request additional information, or review your activity logs before deciding. Incomplete requests may be deferred until the requested information is provided; the fourteen-day windows described above are not extended by an incomplete request.
Processing, timing & tax
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method through Stripe. Once approved, a refund is initiated within a reasonable period; your bank or card issuer may take an additional 5–10 business days to post it to your statement.
Where a refund includes amounts collected as GST, HST, QST, PST, VAT, or other applicable taxes, those amounts are refunded only to the extent the relevant tax authority refunds them to us. Currency-conversion and payment-processor fees charged by your bank or card issuer are your responsibility.
Chargebacks
Before opening a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank, please contact us. A chargeback initiated without first giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve your concern is treated as disqualifying conduct and may result in suspension of your account and forfeiture of any remaining plan access. A quick email almost always resolves things faster than a dispute.
Statutory rights preserved
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection legislation that cannot lawfully be waived, including the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and, for residents of Quebec, the Consumer Protection Act (RLRQ c. P-40.1) and the relevant provisions of the Civil Code of Québec on consumer contracts. Where applicable law affords you a refund right we have not provided here, that statutory right governs to the extent of any conflict, but only to that extent.
Exclusive remedy
Subject only to the statutory rights preserved above and to any rights expressly granted elsewhere in our Terms of Service, the refund process described in this Policy is the sole and exclusive remedy available to you for any dissatisfaction with the educational outcomes, AI-feedback quality, score estimates, perceived value, or accuracy of any feature of the Service.
Changes & contact
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in effect on the date of your purchase governs that purchase.New versions apply to purchases made on or after their effective date. We post each updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date and version.
