How to prepare

  1. 1Use preparation time to annotate the document: identify the central issue, the author's position and two or three angles you can discuss.
  2. 2Open your presentation with a clear statement of the topic and your angle before developing your argument.
  3. 3Anticipate counter-arguments: the examiner is likely to challenge your position, so prepare concessions and rebuttals.
  4. 4Practise debating in French with corrected examples of strong B2 presentations to see the argumentation structures that score well, and run timed mock exams to get comfortable with the 20-minute format.
