The opinion talk, built to last
Part 3 hands you a short document and ten minutes. Here's what to build with them: a theme, a question, and three minutes of your own opinion.
By the end of this lesson
- Name a document's type, topic and main idea in under thirty seconds, without retelling it.
- Turn that document into the one question your talk will answer.
- Pick one of three shapes for the middle, and hang a concrete example on every argument.
- Signpost your talk out loud, and vary the connectors and the opinion phrases that carry it.
- Answer the examiner's follow-up questions from two sources: the document and your own life.
