Small ads and short articles
Exercise 3 gives you five small texts with one question each. Exercise 4 gives you the article worth 7 points. Here's how to read both.
By the end of this lesson
- Work exercise 3 the way it's built: five separate texts, one question each, no jumping between them.
- Read a rental ad line by line, from the kind of flat to its size, its floor and its lift.
- Pull the four facts a job ad carries: the days, the hours, the deadline, and how to reply.
- Send your question to the right email address when a poster prints three of them.
- Take the article in two passes: the topic first, then the hours, prices and counts.
- Find a topic the article never names, by reading the everyday words that travel with it.
